About the book: I Am Canada – A Celebration is a lyrical poem by Heather Patterson illustrated by thirteen illustrators. The text for my page is “I skim over the snow on my toboggan” and I was inspired by a news article about young refugees to Canada experiencing tobogganing for the first time. The setting is inspired by Riverdale Park in my Toronto neighbourhood.
